...from the their previous assignment at the "Boles Fire" in Siskiyou County, to assist the U.S. Forest Service and allied agencies in their battle against a brush fire in El Dorado County north of Pollock Pines, California, approximately 328 miles northwest of our City.
These 22 personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department are now deployed at the "King Fire" wildfire incident in accordance with the California Fire Service and Rescue Emergency Mutual Aid Plan. The plan ensures resources for jurisdictions when their own assets are committed or insufficient for an emergency incident.
The City of Los Angeles remains protected by the use of additional staff and reserve apparatus to cover foreseeable local needs.
The LAFD asks motorists to remain watchful for these and other convoys of emergency apparatus, and to provide the space necessary for them to safely maneuver on and operate near local roads and highways.
Pursuant to protocol, official public and media information regarding this wildfire, including the actions of assigned LAFD personnel, will be provided by the U.S Forest Service, CAL FIRE and allied agencies, which have formed a Unified Command. Additional details may be posted here:
