LAFD Battles Major Emergency Fire at L.A. River Studios
The Los Angeles Fire Department battled a Major Emergency Structure Fire Saturday morning in northeast Los Angeles.
Reported by a 9-1-1 caller at 2:10 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2023, the blaze involved an 11,120 square foot one-story industrial building at 2800 Division Street in Cypress Park.that housed a media production firm and event space known as L.A. River Studios.
A wedding related event had reportedly just concluded at the site when the fire erupted.
It took 157 firefighters under the command of LAFD Assistant Chief Douglas Lewis just 84 minutes to extinguish the flames, confining them to the structure.
No public attendee, staff or firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under active investigation.
