Dog Dies Following Fire at Venice Home
The Los Angeles Fire Department was summoned at 3:37 AM on April 21, 2021 to 129 East Club House Avenue in Venice, where firefighters arrived quickly to find fire involving a 1,206 square-foot one-story home.
With reports that a person may have been trapped inside the residence, a relentless and well-coordinated offensive fire attack ensued, with a simultaneous double search of the premises.
Though no persons were discovered inside or injured by the fire, the Department of Animal Services was immediately notified of a severely injured dog, who was later reported to have succumbed to his injury.
Twenty-six LAFD firefighters under the command of Battalion Chief Anthony Matthews, extinguished the flames in just 18 minutes.
The cause of the fire is undetermined. There is no evidence that indicates the involvement of a person experiencing homelessness.
